“…But you are your wife’s and children’s hero…”
This song may be mainly about the hard life of a young adult Korean, but i wonder why the composers wrote it in the context of a taxi ride. Maybe there’s another meaning to the song: The taxi driver’s job may be simple - to get his passengers to their destinations - but he is there as a listening ear to them, and so his job should not be belittled.
Maybe i’m reading this meaning only ‘cause my dad drives a taxi. But the lyrics say it right:
“You’re saying ‘but you still gotta be happy
but you sigh. Yes, I know what’s behind your smile.
But you are your wife’s and children’s hero
You’re awesome. Cheer up.. Cheer up”
That’s who my dad is: Awesome.
